Please note that some personal information we collect may fall into multiple categories due to overlapping definitions required by state law.

a. Information You Provide.

We collect information you provide, like when submitting a lemon car claim. We may use Service Providers (defined below) to help collect this data. In the past 12 months, the categories of information collected include: Contact Information: your name, e-mail address, phone number, postal address, and similar contact information. Demographic Data: demographic information including your age, gender, and state. Claim Data: Information about your potential lemon car claim, including purchase/lease agreements, current vehicle registration, repair orders, rental or tow receipts (if any), and other vehicle-related documents-all clearly labeled when collected.

Content: We collect the content of the messages you send to us, including information related to your potential lemon car claims, as well as any questions or details you provide. Additionally, we collect communications as necessary to deliver the Service to you. If you voluntarily submit any other information through the Service that we have not requested, you are solely responsible for that information.

b. Information Collected Automatically.

In addition, we automatically collect information when you use the Service. We may engage Service Providers to assist in collecting this information. The categories of information we have automatically collected in the past 12 months include: Service use data: Information about the pages you visit, emails and advertisements you view, the time of day you browse, and your referring and exiting pages. Device connectivity and configuration data: Details about the type of device or browser you use, your device's operating system, internet service provider, regional and language settings, and device identifiers such as IP address. Location data: Imprecise location information, such as that derived from your IP address or data indicating your city or postal code.

c. Cookies and Tracking Technologies.

We use various current - and later - developed technologies to collect this information ("Tracking Technologies"), including the following: Session-Replay Technologies. We use third-party services that implement software to record interactions users have with our Services. This allows us to review DVR-style replays of user sessions, showing clicks, mouse movements, scrolling, and keystrokes throughout these sessions. By doing so, we can identify usability issues and areas for improvement. Additionally, these recordings may capture your consent to receive phone calls, emails, and/or text messages. Information collected through these Session-Replay Technologies may be shared with our third-party analytics and service providers, who assist us in these functions. These providers may change periodically, but they use this information solely on our behalf and for our benefit. For more details on how your consent is obtained and how this information is collected, used, and shared, please refer to our Terms and Conditions. Log Files. A log file is a file that records events that occur in connection with your use of the Service, such as your service use data.

Cookies. A cookie is a small data file stored on your device that serves as a unique identifier for your browser. We use two types of cookies: Session cookies: These help make your navigation through the Service smoother and expire once you close your browser. Persistent cookies: These enhance your experience by remembering your preferences, supporting security features, and enabling personalized advertising both on and off the Service. Persistent cookies can remain on your device for extended periods and can generally be managed through your browser settings. Pixels. A pixel, also known as a web beacon, is a piece of code embedded in websites, videos, emails, or advertisements that sends information about your usage to a server. There are different types of pixels, including image pixels (small graphic images) and JavaScript pixels (which contain JavaScript code). When you access content containing a pixel, it may enable us or third parties to place or read cookies on your browser. Pixels work alongside cookies to track activity from a specific browser on a specific device. We may use pixels from third parties to help us track conversions, deliver advertising both on and off the Service, and provide additional functionality. Device Fingerprinting. Device fingerprinting is the process of collecting and combining various pieces of information from your device's browser-such as JavaScript objects and installed fonts to create a unique "fingerprint" that identifies your device and apps. For more details about tracking technologies and your rights and choices regarding them, please refer to the sections titled "Analytics and Advertising" and "Your Rights and Choices" below. Cookies and Pixels. Most browsers accept cookies by default. However, you can change your browser settings to decline or delete cookies. If you use multiple browsers on your device, you will need to adjust the settings for each browser individually. Please note that your ability to control cookies depends on your browser's features and limitations. Additionally, our websites have implemented measures to avoid using cookies for users accessing our services from Connecticut, Nevada, or Washington. d. Information from Other Sources. We also collect information from other sources. Over the past 12 months, these sources have included publicly available data (such as information obtained through internet searches) and social media platforms. When we combine information from these external sources with data collected through the Service, we treat the combined information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, along with any additional restrictions required by the original source of the data.

2. Use and Disclosure of Information

We collect and use your information to perform an initial assessment of your potential lemon law claim. As part of this process, we may reach out to confirm your details and provide further information about what you can expect. In addition, and including over the past 12 months, we may use your information for various business purposes, including to: Provide and manage our services. Fulfill your requests, such as responding to your comments, questions, or inquiries. Send technical notices, updates, security alerts, policy change notifications, and other support or administrative messages. • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, policy violations, and potential security risks. Monitor and evaluate usage patterns, trends, and user activity. Conduct research and improve our services, websites, apps, marketing strategies, products, and offerings. Deliver advertising and promotional materials. This includes sending direct marketing communications about our own or third-party products, services, events, and special offers. Carry out any other business or commercial activities with your consent, at your direction, or as otherwise disclosed to you. Please note: We may use non-identifiable information-such as de-identified or aggregated data-without restriction, unless otherwise prohibited by applicable law. To learn more about your rights and choices regarding how we handle your information, please refer to the "Your Rights and Choices" section below.

a. Disclosure of Information.

We share the information we collect in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Below are the categories of third parties with whom we have shared, and may continue to share, your information-including during the past 12 months: Attorneys and Law Firms: We share your information with participating attorneys and law firms to facilitate the evaluation and processing of lemon law claims. These legal professionals use a consumer-focused and value-driven framework designed to securely exchange data and serve consumers across California. Lemon Law101 is not a centralized data hub or a new technology platform; rather, it represents a collaborative system governed by shared guidelines for data exchange. When you submit your information to us, we share it—with your consent and at your direction—with LL101 participating attorneys or law firms. They may then contact you to verify your details, assess your potential claim, and offer legal representation if appropriate. Please note that LemonLaw101 is not responsible for how these attorneys or law firms handle your information; any inquiries regarding their data practices should be directed to them directly.

Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party service providers who assist us in delivering our services. These include vendors supporting customer relationship management, analytics, marketing, promotional efforts, hosting, and technical support. These service providers are contractually bound to use your information only for the services they perform on our behalf. However, we may permit them to use non-identifiable (aggregated or de-identified) data for other purposes, unless otherwise restricted by applicable law. Affiliates: We may share your information with our affiliated companies, including parent and sister entities, legal professionals, automotive experts, advisors, developers, and other support service providers. This may occur for purposes such as product development, technical operations, expert evaluations, or marketing efforts. Affiliates may act either as service providers or independent data controllers depending on the context. Business Partners: Your information may be shared with business partners in relation to co-branded services, joint promotional efforts, or distribution of our services and offerings. Vendors and Other Third Parties: We also share information with vendors and third parties to support advertising and analytics efforts, including personalized ad delivery, Matched Ads, and the evaluation of marketing effectiveness. These entities may act as service providers or, in some cases, as independent data controllers. For more details, see the "Analytics and Advertising" section of this policy. Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or other business transaction, your information may be shared or transferred as part of that process, including during due diligence or negotiations. Legal and Security Requirements: We may disclose your information to comply with legal obligations, court orders, or lawful requests from government or regulatory authorities, including those related to national security or law enforcement. We may also share your information to protect our rights, property, or safety, as well as that of our users or third parties. With Your Consent: We may share your information for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection, with your explicit consent. In addition, we may share aggregated or de-identified data—data that does not identify you—with any party, unless prohibited by law. Phone Number Verification: We may share a user’s phone number with a data verification partner to help confirm the user’s identity. For example, we may use lookup services to confirm that a user’s name matches information submitted through an online form. You authorize your mobile carrier to disclose account and device information to us or our service providers for the duration of our business relationship, strictly for identity verification and fraud prevention purposes. Social Media and Technology Integrations: Our Service may include links to or content from third-party websites, platforms, and services. These external services may use tracking technologies and collect information independently from you. Information collected and stored by these third parties is governed by their own privacy policies and practices—not ours. We recommend that you review the privacy terms of any such external platforms you interact with, including information on their data storage locations and your user rights.

b. Analytics and Interest-Based Advertising

We use tools like Google Analytics to understand how people use our website and services. This helps us improve your experience. We also work with companies like Google, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube to show ads about our services on their platforms and other websites. To do this, we and these companies may use tracking technologies (like cookies or pixels) to collect information about how you use our site and others. These tools may track you over time and across different websites and devices. This helps us show you ads that are more relevant to your interests—this is called interest-based advertising. We also use something called “matched ads.” For example, we might upload your email (if you gave it to us when filling out a claim form) to a platform like Facebook. Facebook can then show our ads to you or people with similar interests. This helps us reach the right audience. These companies may use your information in their own ways too, so we recommend checking their privacy policies to learn more about how they handle your data.

Your Choices:

  • Google Analytics: You can stop Google Analytics from using your data by installing a browser tool from Google here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
  • Interest-Based Ads: You can choose not to see interest-based ads from many companies by visiting these websites: https://www.aboutads.info/choices; https://www.networkadvertising.org/choices
  • Matched Ads: If you don’t want us to use your information for matched ads, let us know by contacting us (see Section 8 of our Privacy Policy). We’ll remove your info or ask the platform to stop using it for our ads. You can also change your settings directly on platforms like Facebook or Google.

Keep in mind:

  • These opt-outs usually only apply to the device or browser you’re using.
  • You may still see ads—they just might not be tailored to your interests.
  • We can’t control how well other companies’ opt-out tools work.

To learn more about the tracking tools we use, please see Section 1(c) of our Privacy Policy.

c. Potential lemon car claims. If you’ve shared information with us about a potential lemon car claim, you can: Access it Update or correct it Ask us to delete it Request that we stop sharing it with attorneys, law firms, service providers, affiliates, or other third parties To make any of these requests, just email us at info@lemonlaw101.com. We’ll get back to you within 10 business days. Before we make any changes, we may ask you to verify your identity to protect your privacy. Please note: We may keep some information if we need it to follow the law, resolve disputes, or enforce our terms. If you ask us to stop sharing your information, this won’t apply to any data we already shared before your request. If you have questions about how those third parties are using your data, you’ll need to contact them directly.

d. Communications E-mails.

You can unsubscribe from our promotional emails anytime by clicking the unsubscribe link included in those emails or by emailing us at the address listed in Section 10 with “UNSUBSCRIBE” in the subject line. Please note, you cannot opt out of important non-promotional emails related to your account, transactions, or ongoing business with us. Text Messages and Calls: To stop receiving text messages from us, reply “STOP” to any text message, or contact us as explained in Section 10 and ask to opt out of texts. For help, reply “HELP” to any text or contact us as shown in the Contact Us section. To stop receiving calls, tell us during a call or contact us as explained in Section 8 and request to opt out of calls. Please remember, opting out only applies to the specific email address or phone number you used to opt out and won’t affect any other accounts or subscriptions you may have.

3. How to Exercise Your U.S. Privacy Rights

Certain states, including California, Colorado, and Nevada, grant residents specific rights regarding their personal information, as defined by applicable laws. Detailed information about these rights can be found in Sections 9 through 12 of this policy. Please review those sections for more details. If you live in California, Colorado, or Nevada, you can use the information below to exercise your privacy rights. Note that when you submit a request, we may need to verify your identity and residency, following legal requirements and procedures outlined in the sections referenced. Some requests may be limited by law or subject to exceptions that vary by state. If you are visually impaired, have a disability, or need support in another language, please contact us at info@lemonlaw101.com for assistance in exercising your rights. Response Time: We generally respond to your requests within 45 days of receiving them. If needed, we may extend this period by an additional 45 days, but we will notify you within the initial 45-day window if this occurs. In some cases, an authorized agent can submit a request on your behalf.

How to Submit a Request: To exercise your rights under Sections 9–12, you can submit your request via:

  • Webform: [link to webform]
  • E-Mail: LemonLaw101 Attention: Data Privacy info@lemonlaw101.com

We do not charge a fee to process your request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or clearly unfounded. If a fee is necessary, we will explain why and provide a cost estimate before proceeding. Additional Details: Depending on state law, there may be limits on how many requests you can make within a 12-month period. You can exercise these rights on behalf of your minor child if we have collected their information. In some states, you may authorize an agent to submit a request for you. We may require proof of authorization and verification of the agent’s identity. What Your Request Should Include: To help us process your request, please provide: Enough information to reasonably verify your identity or your authority to act on someone else’s behalf. At minimum, this should include your full name, phone number, and email address. A clear description of your request so we can understand and respond appropriately. We cannot respond or provide personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request. You don’t need to create an account to submit a request. However, requests made through a password-protected account linked to your personal information will be considered verified. We will only use personal information provided during the request process to confirm your identity or authority. How We Respond: If you have an account with us, we will send our written response to that account. If you do not have an account, we will respond by mail or email, depending on your preference.

4. Data Security:

We use industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect your information from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Access to our databases is strictly controlled to keep your data safe. We only share and transfer your information as described in this Privacy Policy. However, please be aware that no method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

5. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 18 years old. LL101 does not knowingly collect personal information from children as defined by the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you are a parent or guardian and think we have collected such information, please contact us using the details in Section 10. Also, we do not knowingly “sell” the personal information of California residents under 18 years old, as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

By using our Service, you agree to this transfer and processing. Please note that data protection laws in the U.S. and other countries may be different from those in your home country.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

If you have a disability and would like to access this Privacy Policy in an alternative format, please contact us at: info@lemonlaw101.com.

9. Nevada Privacy Notice

Nevada law (NRS 603A.340) requires businesses to provide a specific contact address where Nevada residents can request that the business not sell certain personal information collected about them. Under Nevada law, a “sale” means exchanging personal information for money with a third party who may then license or sell it further. If you are a Nevada resident and want to make such a request, please contact us using the information in the “Contact Us” section above.

10. California Privacy Notice

This California Privacy Notice explains what personal information we collect about California residents, how we use it, where it comes from, and who we share it with. It also outlines your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), as well as our responsibilities under these laws. The CCPA gives California residents rights to know about the personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and to request access, correction, deletion, or limits on the sale and use of their personal information. You also have the right not to be treated differently for exercising these privacy rights. This notice applies to any California resident whose personal information we collect, whether through using our Service, purchasing our products or services, or contacting us by any means (online, by mail, or in person). “Personal information” also includes customer records as defined by California law. “Publicly available information” means information from government records, information reasonably believed to be available to the public, or information shared by someone you’ve disclosed it to without restrictions. If you have a disability or need support in another language, you can exercise your privacy rights by emailing us at info@lemonlaw101.com.

Some info we collect is called “sensitive personal information” by California law, like the content of your messages through our Service.
b. Use of Information We may collect and use your personal information for the reasons listed in Section 1 of this Privacy Policy. If we collect any sensitive personal information (as described in Section 10(a) above), we may use it for all those same purposes.

d. Disclosure of Information We may “sell” or “share” some of your personal information with third-party partners to show you targeted ads. Even though we don’t get paid for sharing this information, California law still considers this a “sale” or “sharing.” If sharing your information for advertising falls under the CCPA rules, we will follow the law. We only share your information with advertising and marketing partners to provide you with personalized ads. The types of personal information we share for this purpose include things like your identifiers (name, email, etc.), certain protected characteristics (except disability info), commercial info, online activity, location data, and interests. We work with different partners to help run our Service—see Sections 1 and 2 above for details on how we share your information. We won’t collect more personal information or use your information for new purposes without letting you know first.
e. Retention of Information We keep your personal information, including sensitive information, only as long as needed to provide the products or services you requested, to follow the law, or to meet other purposes explained in Sections 1 and 2. We will also keep your information until you use your privacy rights to request otherwise. How long we keep your data depends on:
  1. How long we have an ongoing relationship with you,
  2. Any legal requirements we must follow, and
  3. Whether keeping the information is important for legal reasons, like lawsuits or investigations.

f. Your California Privacy Rights. If you live in California, you have certain rights under California law, including:

You can exercise these rights yourself or through an authorized agent by following the instructions in Section 3.
g. Notice of Right to Opt-Out. We may “sell” or “share” some personal information with third-party partners for targeted advertising. It also describes your rights and our responsibilities under the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) and other Colorado laws. The CPA gives Colorado residents rights to know what personal data we collect, use, disclose, sell, or share. You also have the right to access, delete, correct, and give permission for how we use or share your data. We won’t treat you differently for exercising these rights. This applies to any Colorado resident whose personal data we collect from any source, including when you use our Service, buy products or services, or communicate with us. “Publicly available information” means information legally available from government records, widely shared media, or information you have made public. If you need assistance because you are visually impaired, have another disability, or prefer another language, you can email us at info@lemonlaw101.com to access your privacy rights.
a. Information Collection We may collect, use, and share personal data about you as described in Section 1. Some of the information we collect is considered “sensitive data” under Colorado law, including:

  • Personal data related to your health, such as mental or physical health conditions or diagnoses.

b. Use of Information We may collect and use your personal data for the reasons explained in Section 1 of this Privacy Policy. If we collect sensitive data as described in Section 11(a), we may use it for those same reasons.
c. Sources of Information For more details about the information we collect and where it comes from, please see Sections 1 and 2 above. We use this personal data to run our business and provide the Service. The types of sources we get personal data from are described in Section 11(c) above.
d. Disclosure of Information We may “sell” some of your personal data to third-party partners for targeted advertising. Under Colorado law, this counts as a “sale,” even though we don’t get paid for sharing this data. If the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) considers these activities a “sale,” we will follow the law. We only share your personal data with advertising and marketing companies to show you personalized ads. The types of personal data we share include things like your identifiers (name, email), certain protected characteristics (except disability info), commercial info, online activity, location data, and inferences about your interests. We work with different companies to help run our service. For more details on how we share your personal data, please see Sections 1 and 2 above.
e. Retention of Information We retain your personal data, including sensitive data, as detailed in Section 10(e) above.
